Concentration terms of Solutions
Hello everyone,
Today i am going to explain some concentration terms of Solutions.
1.) Mass %
Mass of solute present in 100gm pf solution.
W/W% = Weight of solute / Weight of solution × 100
2.) Volume %
Volume pf solute present in 100ml of solution.
V/V % = Volume of solute / Volume of solution × 100
3.) W/V %
Mass of solute present in 100ml of solution.
W/V % = Weight of solute / Volume of solution ×100
4.) Mole fraction :
It is the ratio of number of moles of that component of which mole fraction is to be determined to the number of moles of all components.
Number of moles of solute present in one litre of solution.
M = moles of solute / volume of solution
6.) Molality (m) :
Number of moles of solute present in one kg of solvent.
m = moles of solute / weight of solvent
7.) Normality (N) :
Number of gram equivalent present in one litre of solution.
N = W × 1000/ E × Volume of solutions
Or,. N = molarity × n.f.
